Monday Afternoon Golf:

Format is a four man, 9 hole scramble. Play begins at 2. Participants are encouraged to be ready to play at 1:30. Once per month, format is 18 holes and play begins at 1.

Thursday Morning Golf:

With some of the Thursday 18-hole league games you play your own handicapped score and other games are played as team events. Play begins at 7:45.

Thursday Morning Games:

• Stableford Scoring-Net Bogey=1, Par=2, Birdie=3, Eagle=4, Double Eagle=5

• 1,2,3 – 1BB gross on Par 3’s, 2 BB net on Par 4’s, 3 BB net on Par 5’s

• 3, 4, 5 – Par 3’s 3 BB net, Par 4’s Shamble 2 BB net, Par 5’s Scramble

• Shamble = Everyone drives, Pick the best drive, each player plays their own ball from there, score 2 or 3 best balls net

• Best 2 of 4 score the best 2 balls net

• Quota points – individual and team

• Shamble/Shamble- Everyone on each hole drives, take the best drive, then everyone hits their second shot, then play your own ball after second shot, score 2BB or 3BB net on each hole. This applies to Par 5’s ONLY. Standard Shamble rules apply on Par 3’s and Par 4’s.

• Best Ball Gross/Net – Use one best ball gross of foursome and one best ball net of foursome. Team score will be a combination of both scores.

• TBA (to be announced) – New Games

• Scramble – Two or more players form a team. Each player hits a tee shot on each hole, but everyone plays from the spot of the best shot, subject to certain criteria

• Low Groos/Low Net – the net score is determined by subtracting the players handicap from his gross score.

• 3 clubs and a putter

• Rainbow scramble – rotate tee boxes

• 3 or 4 person Step Away Scramble – Everyone tees off on every hole. Pick the best shot. The person whose tee shot was used DOES NOT hit the next shot. Use the same procedure for each hole. You only have one (1) score for each hole.

• Best Ball gross on front 9,

• Best Ball net on back nine

• Best ball net on front none,

• Best Ball gross on back nine

• Member/Member – Week 1 Alternate Shot (50% of the average handicaps)

Game Day Rules:

• Tee assignments -Members may choose the tees that they would be paying on all 5 courses and send those selections to the President. Once selected, a member must always play those tees for the year. Any changes would have to be submitted and approved by the RMGA board. Those that do not make a selection will play from the tees they have normally played. When playing at Long Marsh everyone will play from the orange tees with the exception of those who play from the silver tees. They will continue to play from the silver tees.

• In most games we play, we can “Roll” the ball in the fairway. “Roll” means the length of a club grip to any course, any ball, etc.

• Any course, any ball in play, you may move the ball 1 club grip length to a better lie

• Any course, any ball in sand traps, may move to a dry area in the sand trap, rake if available is OK

• Jungle Rule – (A) Any ball not found. But not near water or OB and hazard, drop without penalty (3 minute maximum) to search. (B) Any ball not found near water, OB and hazard, majority of team decides in/out without penalty.

• OB – Rehit from original position with a one shot penalty or 2 club lengths in from the closest fairway with a 2 shot penalty.

• Hitting in water, bushes, or hazard – You may move ball 2 club lengths from the entrance with a 1 shot penalty.

Other movement is governed by the Rules of Golf

All players are requested to be “ready to go” fifteen minutes before the appointed tee time to allow the starter to fill no-show vacancies and equalize the teams
